As part of a partnership with the New Brunswick Community College (CCNB), Ecosolaris was commissioned as a technician-trainer for a solar energy training project in Senegal.
Our mission was to train a group of local trainers who, in turn, will train students in the field of solar energy. The goal: to build sustainable local expertise in solar energy.
The training was delivered in several modules:
Introduction to Solar Energy: A basic course on solar system sizing, allowing participants to understand fundamental principles and the energy needs to be met.
Technical Training: On-site, we covered the installation of battery-based solar systems as well as grid-connected solar systems, in accordance with standards applicable in West Africa.
Solar Pumping: A dedicated module focused on solar pumping systems, which are widespread in Africa and represent over 50% of solar installations in some regions. This technology, less common in Canada, plays a crucial role in providing water for agriculture and rural communities.
This project stemmed from our belief that knowledge sharing can truly make a difference. By training local trainers, we aimed to create a multiplying effect so that the benefits of this initiative could reach far and wide.
The project helped strengthen local skills in energy transition and promote sustainable solar solutions designed according to the challenges and priorities on the ground.
