In Senegal, Ecosolaris carried out a project in partnership with the OGN Mer et Monde and local stakeholders, with the support of the International Climate Cooperation Program (PCCI) of the Quebec government.
True to its mission of making a real difference in communities, Ecosolaris committed to this project to support three organizations located in three different cities: Ngaparou, Toubatoule, and Thiokole. These organizations, led by women and youth, embarked on their transition to sustainable energy autonomy.
These structures, active in the agricultural sector and in the transformation of local products, had previously relied on the electrical grid to carry out their activities. This dependence led to frequent service interruptions and high costs, limiting their production capacity.
The supported organizations were working in the following areas:
- Agricultural production of major crops (millet, maize, peanuts)
- Processing of agricultural products (local cereals, fruits, and vegetables)
The project aimed to reduce their dependence on the electrical grid by installing three solar systems tailored to each city, thus meeting the specific needs of the organizations.
These systems were integrated into the transformation units, allowing for extended production hours, which were previously limited by electricity cuts, while also enhancing environmental sustainability.
As a result, the organizations are now able to benefit from clean, stable, and more affordable energy, improving their productivity, autonomy, and impact within their communities
