Since EVduty charging stations and their J1772 plug are designed for indoor and outdoor use and are thus adapted to Canadian weather conditions, this plug holster is not a mandatory accessory.

However, it provides additional protection against the elements, especially in winter when it prevents snow from accumulating and hardening in the plug, making charging difficult. In summer, it protects against insects.

The holster also makes it easy to store the plug and keep it accessible at all times.
