The J1772 nozzle that comes with the EVDUTY station is designed and certified for exterior use and is adapted for canadian weather conditions, so the nozzle holder is NOT REQUIRED. You only need to take the habit of pointing the nozzle downward when rolling the cable around the station. This way you are sure that snow will not build up at the bottom of the nozzle. It is too deep for fingers to remove packed snow and if this layer becomes too thick the car will refuse to charge because the nozzle must snap into the internal EV charger.
Many users still want to use the holder. Many who have a garage install the EVDUTY station inside, near the garage door, so they can charge the car either inside or outside by passing the cable under the door (this is where the 25 foot cable comes in very handy!). Usually, they leave the car outside in warmer seasons and inside during Winter. To not have to reopen the garage door when charging is complete (when the car is outside) to roll the cable around the station, they install the nozzle holder on the OUTDOOR wall and roll the cable around the holder with the nozzle inside!
