This 18,000 BTU heat pump has been designed to heat and/or cool an area of 1,000 square feet using solar energy and the grid (when required). Typically, the energy from the solar panels feeds the heat pump during sunny periods and the grid supplies it during non-sunny periods. This hybrid mode of operation eliminates the need for batteries (saving you several hundred dollars) and allows the system to be used at any time of the day.
The advantage of this product is that it lowers your heating (or air conditioning) costs during the day and allows you to get ahead of the heating (or air conditioning) of your rooms for the evening.
Considering that this technology can now be powered by solar energy and that it produces 3 to 5 times more energy than it consumes, it turns out to be a very interesting solution if you are seeking to reduce your electricity consumption as well as your ecological footprint.

The system is ductless, which means that the cooled/heated air is delivered to its destination without loss of temperature. In addition, the concept of a mini split heat pump (composed of 2 units – 1 outdoor unit and 1 indoor unit) allows you to place the indoor unit wherever is best.
